It’s been awhile since I’ve sat and written a personal blog! I generally try to start the week out with these, as a motivational monday. The last few weeks have been hectic, however, and I’ve slacked off to the point of shame. I could let you know all the excuses I have…. like how my hard drive on my Mac failed and had to be replaced… or how my oldest started Kindergarten and I’m busy catching up on all of the things I should have been doing during the summer instead of hanging out with kids soaking up rays. I COULD tell you all that…. BUT….
I’m pretty sure you don’t care.
Plus, I don’t have much time anyways.
I’m currently sitting on my bed in a towel typing this while I should be getting dressed and getting ready to head out on my flight but I’m soo excited I couldn’t resist telling you all about my upcoming traveling Tuesday. And Wednesday. And Thursday. I’m heading out on a press trip to Fair Oaks Farm in Indiana with the Kansas Pork Association! We’ll be flying into to Chicago’s O’Hara Airport and spending a lot of time hanging out in Chicago as well.
It get’s better! I get to meet up with one of my good friends from high school while i’m there. I haven’t seen her in ages so this is super exciting to me. She went to the Art Institute in Chicago after we graduated, and made it home. I could go on and on telling you how she’s this super awesome super fun artsy individualistic type, but I’ll reserve all that for another post.
Soo…. what will I be doing?
Porking it out, of course!
Lol, but really……
We’ll be visiting soybean farms, dairy farms, and hog farms during our visit, as well as dining at some pretty awesome farm to table restaurants. I’ll be just a small part of a group of dietitians, a few bloggers, the infamous Chef Alli, and Jodi of the Kansas Pork Association.
Welp, I need to go see how much more I can stuff in my carry on in my effort to avoid checking a bag!
