In my diy sugar scrub with essential oils recipe, I chose the essential oils that best fit my skin care needs. I researched them carefully. You can adjust the essential oils used to meet your own unique needs!
Here are the oils I chose, and why:
Patchouli: Helps with acne. Also improves with age, extending the shelf life of other oils it’s used with.
Grapefruit: Purifier of congested oily or acne prone skin. Natural toner.
Lavender: Antiseptic properties that help reduce scarring. It also has a wonderful aroma that promotes sleep. Great for washing your face before bedtime.
Tea Tree: Antimicrobial qualities that leave skin clean and refreshed.
Here’s how I used them:
1 cup of sugar
2/3 cup of carrier oil (I use almond oil for this recipe, but have also had great success with argan oil, coconut oil, and olive oil)
5 drops each of desired essential oils
Mix mixture thoroughly, adding more carrier oil as needed to reach desired consistency. Store in airtight container, in a dark place if possible.
There you have it! It’s as easy as that! Your very own DIY sugar scrub with essential oils!
