Are you sick and tired of your job? Have you been working the same job or industry for years, and wonder how you will ever find something else to do? Maybe you have an awesome business idea, but when will you ever find the time to begin it when you’re exhausted from working each day. You are not alone! There are countless amounts of entrepreneurs that have sat in your shoes, and found a way. You can too! Take action. You deserve to live the life you dream of, and you can. Here’s a few ways to get started:
Write Things Down
The first step to creating your dream is to write a plan. You must get your ideas out of your head and onto paper. Once you write your dreams down on paper, you’re well on your way to making them happen! Don’t worry about making it professional, or even something others will understand. It only has to make sense to you. Jot down ideas, use pictures, paste pictures out of a magazine. Whatever it takes to get your creative juices flowing, just get something down on paper.
Organize Your Thoughts
Once you’ve begun brainstorming, and researched your area of interest, start organizing your thoughts into a scenario. Try writing it in story mode. Tell a story about your self, your idea position, and/or your ideal client. Write in detail. How do you see yourself? Exactly how will your clients or employer see you? We’ve all heard the saying “fake it ‘til you make it”. It’s important that you can see your dream vividly and clearly. If you can’t see it, no one else will either. Once you write this down, read it each and every day. Memorize it, and believe it.
Now that you’ve organized your thoughts on paper and have a vision of how you’d like things to go, make a plan to get there. And then….share your plan! Don’t be afraid to enlist help! If you’d like to have a new position or career at your job, talk to someone in that position. Talk to your current boss. Because you’ve done the background work and organized your thoughts, you should be comfortable sharing. If your plan is to start a business, speak to someone who is either in the business or ready, or who matches your ideal client profile. Get tips and feedback from your friend and family!
By doing these few things, you’ve laid the groundwork for taking control of your destiny and overseeing your dream! Good luck!
