There was a time when the reality of busy schedules, numerous deadlines, and tons of obligations to meet seemed daunting to our family. In all honesty, there were many times when I felt that I just wasn’t equipped to manage life gracefully, the way it seemed other moms were. We certainly weren’t able to Live to The Full. There was just too much to do, and too little time to do it.
Can you relate?
Rather than resigning to choosing between the things we love, we made decisions that allowed us to be intentional with every part of our day.
Live to the Full in Every Moment
Our intentionality started with our decision to homeschool and went from there. Instead of focusing on how stressful homeschooling children can be, I decided to incorporate it into my own schooling. I’m currently in the process of getting my Master of Science degree and cherish the moments spent sitting around the table with the children doing our work together. Another thing we’ve learned to do is to just SLOW DOWN and make the most of every moment.
Recently our oldest competed at the U.S. Finals Cheerleading competition here in Kansas City.
Competition days can be stressful, and in the past, we’ve spent a lot of time rushing to get children where they need to go. This year, however, we’ve made sure to take those spare moments to live life to the full. During a bit of downtime in the competition day, we stepped outside the venue and walked the beautiful streets of downtown Kansas City.
Take the Moments as they Come
Another thing we’ve ditched is carefully planning and micro-managing family outings. Instead, we’ve found beauty as it comes!
On Sunday, we decided to grab a bite to eat at Crown Center. The girls love eating out at Fritz’s, where they deliver our food on a fun train that runs around the entire restaurant. While there, we noticed a fun (and free) exhibit where the girls spent lots of time playing and letting out their energy.
We all even got a chance to grab some delicious treats from our favorite popcorn shop on the way out.
Keep the Fun Going!
Small decisions, like where to purchase our gas, give us a lot of flexibility in our family fun time as well. By purchasing our gas at Phillips 66 Gas, we get to Live to the Full without stressing over the gas gauge. Since there are so many Phillips 66 gas stations around town, we know we’re never too far from one when it’s time to refill.
Using the Mobile Pay app gives us neat bonuses, like a secure transaction and helps us save money on fuel too. Since we have to get gas, either way, we figure we may as well be intentional on choosing the gas station that gets us the most bang for our buck. The Mobile Pay app is very simple to use, and you can download it to your IOS or Android phone.
To make the deal even sweeter, For a limited time, you can get 10 cents off per gallon (up to 30 gallons) per fill up at participating Phillips 66® locations when you pay for your gas using the My Phillips 66® mobile app. Offer good through 6/30/2019.
At the end of the day, what it means to Live to the Full will look different for each family. One thing I truly believe, however, is that with a bit of flexibility, a little creativity, and a LOT of intentionally… it’s possible for every family to make the best of the time they do have together!
