Honestly, networking events aren’t really my thing. It isn’t because I don’t see the value in them, but more so because I’m very much introverted. Please don’t confuse this with being shy… I am far from shy. I’d just rather be at home curled up with a book, then attempting to master the art of small talk. On the flip side, once I find a person whom I share a similiar interest with… I can chat for days! I thoroughly enjoy a real, targeted, genuine discussion. Why am I telling you all of this? To let you know exactly where my mind was at when I began working with Marsha Willis of Marsha Willis Living, to plan our very first Ladies Day Trip to Powell Gardens.
Why take a Ladies Day Trip to Powell Gardens?
Gardening is something that has become a recent passion of mine. It really grew on me last year, when my children and I decided to start a patio garden as a summer project. With very little gardening experience, we dove in feet first. We made mistakes, lost a few plants along the way, but overall… we learned a TON and had an amazing time.

When I scrolled across Marsha’s Facebook post sharing her desire to visit Powell Gardens and inviting anyone interested to come along; I felt excited! Not only was this right up my alley, I was greatly overdue for a ladies trip that didn’t include the three amazing little ladies I spend a majority of my days with. Mommy needed a
glass of wine and time away from the brats err… little break.
Planning a Ladies Day Trip to Powell Gardens
I reached out to Marsha sharing my excitement over her idea to visit Powell Gardens, and we quickly found that we were on the same page. We both envisioned a relaxing and low key garden visit, where any local ladies that desired to join us could meet up, mingle, and just unwind with a guided tour of the Powell Gardens. We kept things simple, sharing on social media the details of our visit, and even setting up a brunch at Niecies Restaurant where everyone could meet up, chat, and car pool if desired before we headed out.
