It’s Monday…again??? The weekend seems to fly, doesn’t it. This weekend was super jam packed for us. My best friend was awesome enough to keep the girls the ENTIRE WEEKEND! An even bigger deal since this was babies first overnight visit away from home without us. Trying not to take it personal that see didn’t seem to mind our absence. At all. Lol. I’m pretty sure I took it much harder than she did. Can’t pretend I didn’t enjoy the break though. Hubby and I made the most of our time!
Friday we had date night at Starlight Theatre, where we saw the Sound of Music. It was AMAZING! I really enjoyed it so much. I’ll save the details for my full review, but I strongly suggest you go see it if you’re in the Kansas City area. After the play we headed to 54th Street Bar and Grill for some half price appetizers and $5 fishbowl long islands (who says you can’t party on a budget?!?!).
Saturday my Dad and Stepmother came from Texas, and we all attended my stepbrother’s MMA Pro Debut! That was a neat experience, and I can’t wait to support him in the future. The crowd, the vibe, the entertainment….all of it was awesome. It made the event that much sweeter that he won (of course). He’s undefeated.
Sunday I went to hang out with the bestie and retrieve the girls, while our Husbands had a boy’s day at the Royal’s game! The Royal’s didn’t win, but they had a blast anyways. My friends oldest son got to run the basis after the game, so he was REALLY excited about that.
Flash forward to today, and I was still amped from the weekends events. I went to Title Boxing this morning, and pushed myself hard during this workout. I’ve been eating better, using IdealShake, and working out hard so I was pretty sure I had lost some weight.
I stepped on the scale. And nothing. Not a pound.
My body is getting more toned and I can feel that I’m in much better shape than this time last year (not a surprise since I was 9 months pregnant at that time) but I haven’t lost a single pound in months. Not one.
I’ve heard all the talk about muscle weight, and how this is normal, and how not to focus on the number of the scale, and blah… blah…blah. But it’s still hard because I want to SEE the fruits of my labor more. I want to see the number go down and be able to brag that I lost X amount of pounds.
I’ll just keep on trucking and knowing that my body is getting healthier and stronger nevertheless.
Here was my motivational quote today:
Have a GREAT Monday!
