If you’ve been following along on the blog, you know that I have been focusing on getting healthy and fit this summer. After having a baby 11 months ago, I am ready to feel comfortable in my own skin again! I’ve been working out at the gym doing kickboxing and boxing, and I’ve seen great results in my endurance and tone. What I haven’t seen, however, is a change in the scale. I’m just not losing weight. I know that my eating habits play a large part in this. While I try to make good choices, a lot of my problem comes from lack of knowledge. I’ve never really been one to count calories. Growing up, my family considered eating a sandwich or salad covered with dressing healthy. I guess it was, in comparison to the greasy, buttery, delicious southern recipes we usually enjoyed for dinner. I tried buying healthy food, but… It was super expensive. And tasted like cardboard. So when IdealShape offered to send me a box of products for review, I was skeptical. I didn’t know how they would taste, and I thought that all nutritional shakes tasted disgusting. I agreed to give it a try, nevertheless. I was pleasantly surprised!
Here’s the rundown:
IdealShake – This shake comes in vanilla and chocolate. I choose the vanilla kind, and it tasted just like a vanilla ice cream shake! It does clump a lot so you have to shake it really hard. I was sent the IdealShape shaker, and found that this worked really well in preventing clumping. It has a little wire ball included in the shaker that breaks up any of the clumps. I found that very useful.
IdealBar: Next was the IdealBar. I was pretty certain this one would SURELY taste like cardboard. Luckily, it didn’t. I received the Cinnamon Crunch kind and it tasted just like my favorite cereal bar! Delicious.
IdealBoost: This is a little packet that you pour in our water. I received the raspberry citrus flavor and it tasted amazing. I drank it before boxing, and had the best work out I’ve had in awhile. Seriously. I just felt like I had more energy and didn’t tire out as quickly either.
Each of these products contain Slendesta, an all-natural potato extract designed to curb hunger. It works! I felt like I had eaten a full meal after trying each product. The important thing to remember, however, is to drink at least 8 ounces of water afterwards. This is necessary to activate the hunger-suppressing benefits of Slendesta.
There are a couple of things to consider if you’re thinking of purchasing it:
1.) It is a meal supplement, not a complete diet replacement. You need to continue to eat at least 4 small meals per day. This can replace a meal here an there and helps to cut down on cravings.
2.) I felt much more thirsty than usual after using these products. I also sweated more during my workout, so it makes sense that I would need to rehydrate myself.
Each product advises you drink water to active the hunger-blocking power so be sure to do that. All in all, the products were great. No “come down” like other energy boosting supplements I’ve tried. I plan on continuing to use it. It addition to the hunger suppressant and weight loss aid there are so many more benefits like; fiber for your digestive system, protein for muscle growth, nutrient rich calories, and essential vitamins and minerals.
