Special thanks to our friends at Kansas City, KS Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for hosting our visit! As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
When speaking of Kansas City, one must be specific in which state they are referring to. Many people not familiar with the area don’t realize that there is actually a Kansas City, MO and a Kansas City, KS! The good news is, you can’t really go wrong when visiting the area. While I reside on the Missouri side, I recently had the opportunity to travel to Kansas City, KS with the Kansas City, KS Convention and Visitors Bureau, and discover some of the many fun things that KCK has to offer! Here’s a round-up of a few things that you and your family MUST do when you visit Kansas City, KS.

The Moon Marble Company in Bonner Springs, KS
Lost your marbles? Chances are they’ve probably rolled off to the Moon Marble Company, located in Bonner Springs, KS. The Artisan and owner Bruce Bredlow had visions of replicating the intricate and awe-inspiring glass marbles he loved growing up. I’d say he definitely met and exceeded his goal! The Moon Marble Company provides a fun atmosphere where adults can be kids and kids can be… well, kids!
You can do everything from browse and purchase the many intricate toys available (many of which are throwbacks that will have you reminiscing of the days of the past), to watching a live demonstration of a marble being created… right in front of your eyes!

They really make the entire process a blast! Whether it’s the staff that greets you as you walk in the door or the good ‘ole boys working on toys and props for the Renaissance Festival in the warehouse in the back.. you can guarantee you’ll be greeted with a warm and genuine smile.

If you’re into outdoor waterparks, you’ll want to visit Schlitterbahn. Depending on how brave and daring you are, you might even want to try the Veruckkt… the world’s tallest water slide! I had the opportunity to ride this ride myself, and I’ll tell you… it’s not for the faint of heart! If you’re a thrill seeker, however, you’ll absolutely love it.

Check out the video of me riding, with two of my local blogger friends!
No matter what the experience is that you’re after, Schillterbahn is sure to have something that is perfect for you and your family! The Kiddiehaven was low key and relaxing. It’s basically a splash pad, so parents can relax a little without fear of the water getting too deep. It’s located away from the other activities, in its own shaded area, making it the perfect meeting hub for the family. We also enjoyed the tube rides and tube slides. I’d love to visit again with a group of adults and enjoy a Cabana and the swim up bar!
