These days life has seemed to be a blur. So much has been going on, it seems like I’m switching gears and cruising through at about 90 mph… but at the same time, it’s a comfortable speed. Throughout everything that I do on a daily basis, it makes me feel soo fortunate to be able to bring my family along for nearly every step of the journey. Every role that I play ties back into family somehow, between my businesses; work outside the home, and even our activities.
It’s fun being a blogger and getting to go on so many cool adventures, testing out new gadgets and what not… but at the end of the day, it’s still work.
To whom much is given, much is required.
I love each and every second of it, but it can be exhausting. It really brings home the importance of getting some good family time in, without any outside distractions.
A chance to deprogram from the fast pace world of technology that consumes us on a daily, and just “smell” each other for a second… as my Grandma would say.
That’s what we did this last weekend, we just relaxed.
We watched movies, danced, ate popcorn, and just enjoyed each other’s company for a while. My nephew even came over and visited us for a night. Caelyn was excited to have a playmate!
Most importantly, we played.
That’s the secret to spending quality time with your family. There is no secret. You just enjoy each other’s company, and keep things simple.
Entertain yourselves with things you usually take for granted.
The fort we built, inspired by Pop Secret, turned out to be a hit. The two younger ones didn’t stay awake long enough to enjoy it, but Cyanne sure got a kick out of it. I think she enjoyed snacking most though. Not gonna lie, I didn’t mind that part much myself.
We filled and refilled the bowl of popcorn, and even switched between two different kinds.
We were greedy.
It’s okay though, because come Monday we were all back to work, and school, and doing our respective roles to keep our ship sailing. With all we do, I’d say we deserved a night or two. 😉
