I’ve heard all about the women in my family speaking about having “oops” moments! Those moments that happen when you laugh too hard, sneeze a little top intensely, or get scared. Then….Opps! You pee your pants a a little bit. I’ve even said several times “I almost pee’d my pants laughing!”. Regardless, I didn’t mean realistically. Surely this was something that only happened when you were older. Nothing I should worry about in my early twenties.
I was pregnant!
Everything was going great until about 8 ½ months into it. I was sitting at home watching a comedy, since that’s about all I had the energy to do those days, when a HILARIOUS part came up. I was cracking up laughing!
That’s when it happened!
Not a lot…… not even enough to notice. I’m pretty sure no one did. In fact, this is the very first time I’m ever mentioning it. Lol. After a brief moment of panic where I wondered if my water had broken, I realized what had happened and quickly retreated to shower and change to save myself the embarrassment. Granted, I did have an extra 6 pounds + sitting on my bladder, but still… I wasn’t ready to admit what had happened!
So why am I telling you now?
When I learned about Depend, and their Drop Your Pants For Underwareness Movement, I knew it was time to fess up and share my story! That’s because this is not just an issue for the older crowd. In fact, over 65 Million American’s experience bladder leakage.
