If you’ve read my first post on couponing for beginners, you already have a a good idea of what you need to get started. You have your coupons in hand and/or your digital coupon app downloaded. If you haven’t read the first post yet, I suggest you catch up here.
One question that I’m always asked is “Why do couponers buy so much at a time?”. The answer is simple, you save by buying in bulk. The entire purpose of couponing is to save money, and in order to do so effectively, you have to plan ahead a bit. This means that you can’t wait until you’re out of products to go and buy them. If you do that, chances are they won’t be on sale. Sure, you can use your coupons to save a bit… but your overall savings won’t be as great as you might expect.
Instead, keep your eye open for awesome deals and when you see them JUMP ON THEM!
What Should You Add To Your Stockpile
Many people add stockpile groceries and anything else they can find. Personally, I only stockpile a few non-perishable food items. I don’t have a bit enough pantry to store much more than that. I do, however, store lots and lots of toilet paper and other toiletry and home essentials. Paper towels and toilet paper are something we’ll always use, and that won’t expire. When I see great deals on those, I jump on them.

How Much In Your Stockpile Too Much?
This is a question that really depends on the size of space you have to store items, as well as the size of your family. I try to stock up at least 6-12 months of toiletries and kitchen essentials for my family. Once I exceed this amount, I begin donating the extras to charities, family and friends.
