Monday’s are a drag. I often find it hard to get up and going. Throughout the weekend I try to stretch the time with my family as much as possible. By Sunday night, my mind has gone into week time mode and I’m thinking of all the things I need to do in the upcoming week:
Managing our personal and business finances
Packing School Lunches
Laying out school clothes
Getting Hubby Ready for the work week
Planning meals and activities for the next week
Scheduling blog post
Responding to recent comments on the blog (I always respond to each and every comment personally, so feel free to sound off)
Sometimes I dread the upcoming week, and all of my responsibilities. I try to always get my attitude in check quickly when I feel that way though, by changing the way I’m thinking. I have to. Thoughts are what fuel your moods, and I am so much more effective and efficient when I’m in good spirits. Plus, I love what I do. Reminding myself of that puts things back into perspective. I love my blog and my business, and the fact that it allows me to stay home with baby and juggle taking care of my family while still pursing my personal career aspirations. I know that’s something that so many don’t get to do, and it took me a lot of hard work and dedication to get to this point. I try to find a motivational quote or phrase to encourage me.
Going to the gym also helps get me motivated. “They” say you should never miss a Monday workout. I’ve been slacking off these last couple of Mondays. Today, however, I made a point to be there bright and early in the 5:30am class. I recently received my review kit from IdealShape, so I drank an IdealShake before boxing class, and it gave me the extra energy boost I need. I’m looking forward to trying out the rest of my products, and sharing them with you in my review.
All in all, I think I’m geared up to have a pretty awesome Monday and week in general. My 5 year old made it on the bus already (if you missed my post about it, she’s already started Kindergarten!). Husband made it off to work on time, and everyone had lunches in tow. Babies already taking her morning nap, so I’ll even have time to get in a morning round of checklist item knockout.
What motivates you to start your week?
