In June, I began my new job the same as anyone else starting off a new job. A total “yes” girl! Eager to take on any task and, inevitably, conquer the World one project at a time! I immediately began juggling schedules, responding to clients, and even taking a dip into the world of web design. Due to my extremely high level of pride, I usually ended up relying on Google searches for answers rather than asking questions of my employer.
And then…. I was given a project that changed my life completely! Posting blogs for one of our clients! At first, I felt a brief rush of panic….I hadn’t written much since HS. There was also that little problem of me knowing NOTHING about blogging! What would I write about? Would people read it… if they did read it, would they read the WHOLE thing?!?!
So…. I did what any other person would do in this position: I procrastinated. Literally, an hour before the blog was do, I began. And once I began writing, the words started flowing. I wrote, and wrote and wrote. I eventually had to edit my article down, as it was much too long for a blog, and better suited for a small novel.
Somewhere in this writing, I began to feel free. Strange, I know, since the subject (building a new home), was not even one that interested me in the least bit. But, sitting behind my Mac, I held a certain power. The power to grasp my readers interest and hang on until the last second. The power to link in articles that I found interesting and let my reader see them with the click of a button, rather than having to use a reference page like those annoying High School essays. In this new world I had entered, I was sitting on a cloud. I had a voice.
A voice that I am now sharing with you! I hope you enjoy the blogs here on my hub. This is my first attempt at creating a blog derived from my own ideas, rather than those of a client. I welcome input of all types whether it be negative, positive, constructive, or not so much. Welcome aboard my journey, and thanks for reading!
