It’s Monday… Again. Seems this phenomenon that has everyone posting memes about it at the beginning of the week, expressing their displeasure, is a pretty consistently recurring event. For some reason, however, throughout the years… many of us have conditioned ourselves to dread this day.
Is it because of the social stigma that we should hate our jobs and moan and groan on our way to them each and every day as if we are being pulled by some invisible rope that is tightly strung around our neck?
It’s funny how often we take for granted our situations, only to realize how good we actually had it after the fact. When we no longer have a job, or even a roof over our head… the home and job we had before seem much more efficient.
So, the saying is true. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.
Another fact? That’s because YOU decide not to appreciate what you have, until you no longer have it. Acting with gratefulness is a choice.
“An attitude of ungratefulness will forever lead to displeasure and unhappiness.
Gratefulness is spending time thinking about what you DO have, rather than what you don’t.
Let’s try it. I’ll start!
Reasons For My Gratefulness This Monday:
I have an outlet: I am soooo grateful to own this blog, as an outlet to share my random thoughts and mumblings with you all. I’d surely implode from brain overload, if I attempted to keep them all in my head.
Friends and Family: This weekend has been all about that. Friday we were invited to a friend’s home for dinner with their family and it was wonderful. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely. I’m grateful to have friends that open their homes to us, and allow us in their world.
On Saturday, I spent time cleaning the house and enjoying my family some more. The slow pace of the day made it juuussstt right!
Sunday, we spent time praising the Lord at church, then watched my Sister in Law be married to the love of her life. It was SOOO sweet and beautiful. Cyanne tore up the dance floor too…. In her own unique way 😉
New Opportunities: This weekend I will attend Go Blog Social, and it will be my first ever blog conference. This was something that I didn’t think I could fit in the budget, but as always… God paved a way. I am soo excited for the experience, and to meet new people. I have a feeling this will be EPIC!
AND….It’s MONDAY!: I’m thankful for that. That the Lord blessed me to see the beginning of another week. One that holds optimism, hope, and wonders that I can’t even imagine at this moment.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
