Being a working mom is hard enough, but add attempting to work out of your home office with toddler WHILE maintaining the household… and it’s you’re in a whole ‘nother league of domesticated chaos. There’s never really enough time in the day to tackle everything around the house that needs to be done. Most days, it seems like an endless uphill battle in which I never fully gain good footing. A constantly slippery slope that I find myself backsliding down 3 feet, with every 1.5 feet of progress made. While I’ve tried to convince my husband that we could use a little hired help (only slightly joking)…. that conversation has never gained me much traction either.
I’ve found that I have to instead stick to relying on the help I have at hand.
While I’m stuck doing some things, like the laundry, all on my own…. I’ve found that the folding process afterwards could always use a few hands! And that’s where I recruit her!
Granted… we do things a bit differently.
And her work ethic leaves me a bit skeptical at times.
Nevertheless… we manage to get the job done.
Not, of course… without the occasional workplace meltdown.
Like any good manager, I am concerned about providing her a safe and happy workplace environment. This means not only securing the facilities in a way that I know will keep her most safe… but also choosing the best quality in the products that I use in our workday routine.
For instance, all free clear laundry detergent allows me to wash clothes side by side with her without worrying about her sensitive little skin being irritated on the job. At the end of the day, I’ve found that happy workers make for a happy workplace environment overall! So far, I haven’t had too many complaints! And when it’s all said and done… she’s really still just free to be a kid!
