Have you ever just felt good all the way to your soul? That’s how I feel this morning. Last week seemed long and hectic. We had a lemonade stand, meet the teacher night, a trip to the American Girl store, the first official day of Kindergarten AND my Husband’s birthday. To say I ended the week exhausted would be a complete understatement. My friend Shonda, who blogs at FashionPlateKC, had this great idea to bring a group of her girl friends together to meet up for lunch and a movie and socialize.
I wasn’t really up to it.
I had my own stuff going on at home and felt super guilty leaving my family to enjoy a casual afternoon on the Plaza. Luckily Shonda’s persistance, and my Husband’s not so gentle prodding to get out of the house (and away from the children) and enjoy my self wore down my defenses and in the end I decided to go ahead and go.
I’m sooo glad I did!
Have you ever come across another spirit that your soul just automatically liked? That’s what I felt when we sat down to begin our lunch at a local indian cuisine, and the feeling grew as the time went on. We began talking and soon learned what similarities and differences we all shared and contributed to the group. It was literally like a match made in heaven! All of us had in common being bloggers, but each of us had our unique strength that countered the weakness of another. It also didn’t help that the Indian food was absolutely AMAZING!
After lunch we shared more laughter and hugs and those of us headed to see the movie “The Hundred-Foot Journey” set out on our way to be even more pleased. Awesome movie to anyone that is considering watching (I suggest eating Indian food before like we did. Added to the effect). I’m looking forward to meeting up with these ladies again soon!
Fast-forward to today and I’ve attended my morning boxing class and took my 5 year old to get two vaccinations we somehow missed during the back to school hustle and bustle. Now Husband and my big girl are off to enjoy their days at school and work, and baby is napping.
I’ve got about an entires week of various task to complete and journeys to document and share with you all. And I’m smiling. It’s gonna be a good week….
