When my family and I were invited to attend a KU Women’s basketball game I was super excited! A basketball game is such a fun way to enjoy an event with your entire family. You never have to worry about the weather, and there’s enough action to keep everyone entertained. All you really have to do is show up, and you’re bound to have a good time. If you’re looking to REALLY make the most of your experience, at Allen Fieldhouse however, I have a few tips to help you do just that!
1.) Grab The Gear
Start getting excited to attend your KU Women’s Basketball game, before you even leave your house by getting the family all geared up! It’s alright if you don’t all have KU gear, blue and red will do just fine!
2.) Show Up Early
The KU Women’s Basketball experience begins long before you make it to your seat! Be sure to arrive early enough to view all the fun scenery, and take lots of pictures! There are such fun photo ops in the lobby, and you’ll be glad you did! It also helps to get parked and in the doors with enough time left over to enjoy yourself before the game begins.
3.) Be Prepared to Play and Learn
Another reason to show up to the game early are the activites. Not only is there a designated kids zone, with lots of fun activites… there are several opportunities for an impromptu history lesson as well! The beautiful displays showcase a plethora of memories from the history of the KU basketball program! If you arrive early enough, you may even be able to snap a few photos with some of your favs!
4.) Check for Concession Specials
On the day that we visited the KU Women’s basketball game, I was pleased to learn that hotdogs and popcorn were only $2 at the concession stand! I was planning on buying something different, but couldn’t bring myself to pass up such a great deal. Be sure to check the concession stand for specials during your visit as well.
